Newberry National Volcanic Monument
One of the most beautiful and fascinating places to visit is the Newberry National Volcano Monument, where you can find many Newbury volcano attractions, standing on the top of lava butte, a cinder cone that surrounds up to 500 feet above the landscape. In another area of the monument, you can find beautiful lakes and mountain peaks, with amazing hiking and camping opportunities. Chatwood Exhibition hall in Newberry National Volcano Monument provides lots of information about the geology of the area and things to see and do in the monument, as well as details about current conditions. This is the easiest way to visit some of the sites in the Newbury National Volcano Monument.
Tumalo Falls.
Tamula Falls is one of the most famous sightings in the area of Bend. The 97-foot waterfall falls like a wall down to the roaring river that you can easily see from the observation area near the parking lot. This is a great view of the falls, but if you want a closer look and a different perspective, you can also hike the .2-mile trail near the restrooms at the Picnic Area of Tumalo Falls. In addition, there is a fenced area on the edge of the falls, where you can see the waterfalls below.
High Desert Museum
The museum offers a wonderful introduction to history with extensive permanent and temporary indoor exhibits in the large central building and A natural trail connects a variety of exhibits including an aviary, an otter tand and many historical displays. The museum is located a short distance south of Highway 97 and is well indicated.
The Cascade Lakes
Bend have most beautiful Cascade mountain range and its awesome peaks that you can see from anywhere in the area. There are three lakes in which Tod, Sparks and Hosmer describe the beauty of the Bend. An hour’s drive will take you into the mountains and if you drive on the pass it will take you south to Mount Bachelor and Broken Top.
